Jellee Works Productions

"awakening your hidden talents"

Personal Recommendation from Paul E. Evans, Attorney at Law

First, please allow me to introduce you to Paul:

I quit the road in 1982 as the traveling was just becoming too much, I had turned 40 and decided I wanted to sleep in my own bed at night, be closer to my wife and turn to the next chapter of my life.
I had developed so many contacts in the music business with Record Labels and Music Publishers and they had been urging me to start working with songwriters and singers. The record labels and music publishers kept telling me of the horror stories of the demo recordings they would receive. That so many times they thought there might be a hidden gem in the song or singer but the demo recording they had received was so poorly produced and recorded the true essence of the talent or song didn't come through.

After months and months of urging, I decided to see where I might get involved. As a result, I started a very small (at first) recording business. I was given over 200 names of songwriters and singers from around the world and I wrote them a letter offering my services. The response was over-whelming to say the least and Jellee Works Productions and Heart Land Records was formed. But of course, I needed the talent of musicians in the area to produce the recordings. So my wife and I started going around Kansas City to various venue's and clubs scouting for talent. One particular Saturday afternoon we came across a group performing an afternoon gig. This group of musicians were phenomenal to say the least! As a matter of fact, over the next 15 years or so, I used most every member of that group in the studio at one time or another.

In particular was the lead guitarist and on an intermission I introduced myself and my wife to him. His name "Paul Evans". Paul became my very first hire for the studio. Working almost daily with me side by side in all aspects of the studio and label, in addition to his guitar talents which are unparalleled. We fast became close friends and remain so to this day.

After several years of working with me and still performing gigs around town and traveling around the world at times, Paul eventually made the decision to continue his education and then decided to go into law and has become an outstanding lawyer and is my personal lawyer to this day. He still performs from time to time around the area. He has also decided to "give back" and he recently became a law professor at Park College.

When Paul learned of what I was doing and being such a close friend and so knowledgeable of my career, he wanted to offer his assistance in writing his recommendation of my efforts in producing and developing new talent.

The following is a letter to you from Paul Evans.

........................................................................

Dear Singers, Musicians and Songwriters,

Over the course of twenty-five years, Jimmy Lee has been many things to me…my employer, mentor, and now, dear friend. I know from first-hand experience Jimmy is a generous and patient teacher, mostly because he genuinely enjoys the process of learning and sharing his own vast knowledge.

Jimmy Lee is acutely organized in his thinking, making him a highly effective instructor. More importantly, he is able to encourage and guide his students toward excellence through motivation and positive reinforcement, creating an enjoyable and rewarding learning experience for the student.

Above all, Jimmy has an instinct for developing natural talent, honed through his many years of experience in all aspects of the music industry. This man really knows the business, the craft, and the art of music. I highly recommend his services to anyone wanting a head start to success.
