As a singer, guitarist, and songwriter without any previous training, I was scrupulous in my search for an instructor.  To be honest, I had my reservations about myself as a student and finding the right teacher, but Jimmy has blown my concerns away.  He is not only a superb vocal guide, but a dedicated and intelligent individual.  I feel at ease placing my musical future in his experienced hands.  Although I have made vocal progress on my own, there are many things vocally and otherwise that I would not have fully realized without Jimmy's help.  Jimmy has an enthusiastic attitude for music that is both refreshing and encouraging.  I consider myself lucky to have a couple hours of his time every week. -

Valerie is such a beautiful person, both inside and out. She's a true pleasure to work with each week and her desire to learn and expand her horizons in music, amaze me time after time. "She actually asks for homework"... Valerie is a remarkable talent both as a songwriter and as a singer. We started out working with her vocals and her performance skills and we still are but we've progressed further with her talent as a songwriter and lyricist. Valerie has a gift for lyrics that is so refreshing. She understands completely the concept of finding a new and unique way of sending a message or telling a story with song lyric. Valerie’s husband Alex is an accomplished musician himself and we’re planning on producing an album of original material, written by Valerie and Alex, produced here at Jellee Works and released to the world through social media. I know that once you’ve had a chance to hear this beautiful voice and be charmed by her song, you too will become a fan, as I am.

    Lindsey has been taking lessons from Jimmy Lee for about 3 months now.  The lessons go way beyond instruction as Jimmy Lee is truly a mentor.  He has a very positive approach to teaching which really brings out the best in Lindsey.  He never hesitates to cheer when she does something well and he is very gentle when pointing out what she needs to improve.  Lindsey responds very well to him and she looks forward to each lesson.  He has begun vocal coaching with Lindsey and she has already made some great improvements.  He really knows how to bring out the best in her and pushes her to recognize her abilities.  I couldn’t have asked for more in someone who can guide my daughter in the music industry.  He truly knows his stuff! - Holly Kendrick, Grain Valley, Missouri

I really didn't know what to expect when my mother suggested if I'd like to take some lessons from Jimmy Lee. My music teacher at school last year and in church had suggested it. I didn't know if this was going to be a onetime thing or whatever. That was almost 4 months ago! He started me out with just fun stuff and showing me about being in a studio and having my voice recorded. I started learning right away and didn't even realize it. He started explaining to me that every singer has strengths and weaknesses and I have to learn to use my strong points and make my weaknesses stronger. Jimmy has taught me to look at the lyrics of a song as something more than just words. He teaches you to be a songwriter, feel the emotion of what the lyrics are saying and become an actor. It really helps me understand all of it so much better and sing with feeling. I look forward to the sessions every week and I have a lot of fun. He recently started vocal coaching with me and has taught me to be more confident and we're working on increasing my range and how to use vibrato. We record the vocal exercises and each week we look at the progress. I've already increased my range by a full octave in just a few weeks. He's very easy to talk to, he explains everything to make sure I understand it and each week gives me drills and exercises to work on. He calls it homework but it's more like fun work. Every week, we spend the first part with the vocal training and then work with recording songs I like. He's very smart and experienced with music. I love his stories about experiences and things with being a professional entertainer. I recommend Jimmy to everyone I talk to about music. - Lindsey Kendrick, Grain Valley, Missouri
